How to create tension from such a well known and pretty Christmas song? Make ‘em wait! I thought it might be fun to have a ridiculously long introduction. I think it worked out nicely because when the melody finally appears, it is more than welcome. This is a nice show closer. No need for fancy dynamics here - just sail along. One additional note - although the two dotted quarters in measure 5 and similar places is somewhat non-standard notation in a 3/4 meter, in this circumstance I felt it was both easier to read and emphasized the feeling of the duple rhythm.
