A perfect encore piece. This is short and beautiful with a mix of McCartney and Copland.

Such a simple, beautiful melody as this deserved a light touch. My imagery at the time I was arranging this was of a lone Blackbird in the American west, thus the Copland-esque E-flat in measure 8, cello, and the steady rhythmic pace to emulate traveling through the endless plains and deserts. Play as simply and beautifully as possible. We have often used this as an encore to give the audience a chance to recover, particularly after clobbering them over the head for two hours with Led Zeppelin.
